The system needs overhauling for sure. No doubt in my mind.
ReplyDeleteAlmost certainly there are large numbers of criminals present in both the U.S.A. and Canada who are taking advantage of these policies. Maybe more so in Canada because it's more tougher to get into the States specially after 9/11 but we still have our problems. As a pro-immigration person, it makes me angry to see criminals getting away and the government not doing anything about it. It paints a negative picture about the entire segment of that population. Anti-immigrant groups snatch these headlines and use it to promote their bigoted agendas.
ReplyDeleteAs for the whole immigration issue I believe you cannot stop the flow of people. You can limit it to a certain degree. But with enough resources and motivation people will always find ways. We're always looking for places with better shelther, better food source, better safety. It's what we do as humans.
